(Council Bluffs) The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office has released more information related to the deadly motorcycle accident Tuesday evening.
Pottawattamie County Sheriff Jeff Danker says Officers were dispatched to 19885 Old Lincoln Highway at around 8:15 p.m. involving multiple vehicles. When they arrived witnesses told them that a black 2009 Buel motorcycle was northbound on Old Lincoln Highway. While passing another northbound, the operator of the Buel, identified as 18-year-old John Harter, lost control. Both Harter and a passenger, Joseph Goodwin, were ejected from the motorcycle which then slid into the path of a Harley Davidson causing it to crash. The driver of the Harley, 67-year-old Kathryn Kennon was injured in the accident and transported by ambulance to the University of Nebraska medical Center. David Harter was also taken by ambulance to the Nebraska Medical Center. A third party was taken by ambulance due to shock.
Joseph Goodwin was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
