(Atlantic) Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley continued his annual tour of the state today with a stop at the Rotary Club’s noon luncheon in Atlantic. Every year the New Hartford Republican Senator conducts town hall meetings in all 99 Iowa counties. Grassley says the topics of conversation during this year’s tour include; guns, but less so than a month ago, crop insurance, the farm bill, the IRS, and fast and furious. But the hottest topic is Obama care…
“Overwhelmingly, either questioning the value of it, or they just don’t like it, or they are afraid of it, or they don’t know what it is going to do, or they ask questions like can’t we get rid of it,” stated Grassley. “They ask questions like can’t you change it, or how is going to impact them.”
And Grassley has an opinion on how it will impact to the U.S. citizens.
“If I looked ahead 10-years I would says there is going to be very little private health insurance and the government is going to be running the whole thing,” said Grassley. “But that is a prediction; I don’t have an intellectual basis for it except looking at the problems that this bill has and the promises that haven’t been kept.”
Grassley says after tonight he will have been in 84 counties and plans on touring the remaining fifteen counties at the end of August.
