(Red Oak) A Red Oak woman was arrested on child endangerment charges Sunday.
According to a press release from the Red Oak Police Department, Officers responded to an infant inside a black Chevy Caprice with the windows up and not running parked outside of a store. The caller advised there was no one around and they did not know how long the child had been there. When the Officer arrived on the scene, and found the two-and-a-half month old child inside the vehicle. Police tried to locate the driver in the store with the help of the store manager, while other officers on the scene gained entry into the car and removed the child and placed the infant inside the patrol vehicle, where it was cooler.
Red Oak rescue arrived on the scene to evaluate the child, who was sweating and appeared to be breathing very hard. Once in the Patrol vehicle the infant was examined and appeared to be breathing easier.
The driver was located about 30-minutes after arriving on the scene. Police say 56-year-old Vicky Sue Allen, of Red Oak was arrested and charged with Child Endangerment. She was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and held on $2,000.00 bond.
The father of the child was called and came to the scene to pick up the child.
