(Atlantic) The Cass County Memorial Hospital Board approved a $1.9 million dollar equipment and remodeling project this week. Steve Lewis Assistant Hospital Administrator and CFO, says the project includes a new in-house MRI unit.
“The project includes putting in an in-house MRI unit at the former main entrance,” stated Lewis. “The reason we are doing this is for patient convenience so people won’t have to go outside when the weather is bad.”
He says the other part of the project includes the remodeling of the old upstairs conference room.
“The scope of this project will be for offices for our information technology personnel, an information technology learning center, a nursing learning center and a conference room.”
Lewis says this will wrap the hospital total remodeling project.
“Basically it is going to tie the old with and the new together to make a really sharp looking facility.”
Lewis says there is enough money available for the project. Construction will begin on August 1 and finished by the end of the year.
