(Des Moines) Former Des Moines Schools Superintendent Nancy Sebring is suing her former employer.
Sebring’s lawsuit filed Thursday in Polk County District Court alleges salacious emails Sebring wrote while on the job…emails that the suit said should have been kept private.
She is suing the district, former school board president Teree Caldwell-Johnson, Communications Director Phil Roeder and legal counsel Patricia Lantz.
The suit also contends that then board-president Caldwell-Johnson tipped Des Moines Register Editor Rick Green about the emails, which were part of a request by the Omaha World Herald.
Current Superintendent Tom Ahart calls the suit “unbelievable” and says the district “did the right thing,” according to Iowa’s open records law.
