(Harlan) Harlan State Senator Nancy Boettger plans to retire after the 2014 Iowa legislative session.
In a statement released Thursday, Boettger says for the past 19 years, she has considered it an honor and privilege to represent you in the Iowa Senate. Boettger and her husband Dave have decided that 2014 will be her last year and she will not be seeking re-election.
Boettger says as a former educator, young people’s education has been a very important issue for her. She says that this past Legislative session great strides were achieved in education on behalf of the students, teachers and school districts across Iowa. She adds that she will continue to work hard on her 20th and final year for all the hard-working people of our great state.
