(Des Moines) The Iowa Supreme Court has approved a budget that will stretch the hours Iowa’s Clerk of Court offices will be open.
According to the Omaha World Herald the announcement came yesterday that the $167 million judicial branch budget for the fiscal year will keep all clerk of court offices open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. They were previously closed on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and 21 other offices were closed during other hours.
The new budget lets the court fill more than 40 positions, including 13 juvenile court officers.
Around 30 northern Iowa offices will expand their hours July 15, and the balance will open September 3.
