(Exira) The Exira and Elk Horn-Kimballton School Districts will reorganize into one according to the results of a school election today. Voters from both districts passed the measure by an overwhelming margin.
According to the Audubon County Auditor’s Office Public measure A in Exira passed 343-32, and 285-50 in Elk Horn-Kimballton. Public Measure B passed 335-37 in Exira and 269-60 in Elk Horn-Kimballton.
John Leader was also voted in to fill a vacancy term with 291 total votes.
Public measure C changes the method of how Elk Horn-Kimballton school board members are elected and it passed 232-92. This means all candidates will be voted at-large from the entire school district.
The reorganization takes effect July 1, 2014.
