(GRANT) The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office investigated a single vehicle rollover accident late Sunday night.
The Sheriff’s Office received the call just before midnight. The truck was found in the ditch west of W Avenue on 110th Street. The vehicle had rolled and it was unknown if there was anyone present. Personnel from Grant Fire and First Responders checked the immediate area surrounding the vehicle. The driver of the 2006 GMC Sierra K2500, Justin Swartz of Grant, was located at his residence a short time later.
Swartz had been operating the truck eastbound on 110th Street when he came over the hilltop and observed several deer. Swartz said that he swerved to miss the deer and overcorrected and went off the road into the north ditch where the vehicle overturned and came to rest on its top. Swartz said the accident happened at around 9:00 p.m. and he had walked home. Swartz was not injured. A short length of fence in the north ditch was damaged in the accident and Swartz will be contacting the owner to repair the fence.
