(Harlan) A Harlan man was arrested in connection with a disturbance at the Harlan Public Library Tuesday.
According to Harlan Police, 65-year-old David Peters faces charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct. While he was booked into jail, Peters was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and charged with possession of contraband while in a correctional facility.
In other activity, 29-year-old Gabriel Brown was charged June 12, for allegedly stealing a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. Brown was charged with first degree motor vehicle theft and taken to the Shelby County Jail.
In a separate incident on June 12, two people were arrested after Harlan Police Officers received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Dollar General Parking Lot. One of the subjects was reported to be in possession of a gun. Harlan Police arrested 22-year-old Morgan Kriz, of Kearney, Nebraska, for possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of prescription drugs. Harlan Police also arrested 26-year-old Nicholas Denetelli, of Omaha, for carrying weapons. Both were taken to the Shelby County Jail.
