(GRISWOLD) The Griswold School Board tackled a number of routine items at their meeting Monday night.
Griswold Superintendent Dana Kunze said school lunch prices for 2013/2014 will be up five cents. He said the prices had to go up as directed by federal requirements and the minimum they had to go up was five cents.
The school board also approved the registration fees.
“Griswold has not charged registration fees since the mid-90’s and we are going to continue with that policy, no registration fees at Griswold,” said Kunze. “A true free education.”
The school board agreed to enter into a sharing agreement with Lewis Central for any high school student that would like to be a part of a swim team. Kunze also asked the Board if they wanted more information on possibly offering a dance or drill team and he said at this time the board was not interested.
Kunze said they have also settled negotiations with non-certified staff. He said, “I informed the Board that we settled negotiations with non-certified staff at the same four percent level that we did with certified staff and the same four percent agreement was offered to the administration and the central office.”
And, work on the track is underway.
“The Fisher Track Company was here on Friday and surveyed our field and our track area and they have laid out where that track is going to fit,” said Kunze. “Since we’re switching from a six lane track to an eight lane track it’s actually going to shift over just a little bit, it’s going to shift to the east about six to twelve foot depending on which side you’re talking about.”
