(AUDUBON) An Exira man entered guilty pleas to amended charges in connection with an assault outside of an Exira business in April.
Jesse Lee Brubaker pled guilty to two counts of Willful Injury, causing serious injury. He was sentenced Monday to five years at the Iowa Medical & Classification Center, Oakdale Prison on Count I, along with $750 fines, surcharges, restitution and attorney fees. He was also sentenced to five years at IMCC, Oakdale Prison on Count II to be served consecutively with Count I, along with an additional $750 fine, surcharges, restitution and attorney fees. Brubaker was given credit for time served.
Brubaker was arrested during the early morning hours of April 7th after his role in an assault outside of an Exira Business the night before that resulted in two individuals being cut with a knife.
Brubaker was also sentenced to 30 days in jail on a charge of Operating Under the Influence, 1st Offense, from an incident that occurred in January. This term was also ordered to be served consecutively with the other two sentences.
