CASS COUNTY SUPERVISORS APPROVE BUDGET
(ATLANTIC) The Cass County Board of Supervisors approved the FY 2012 budget at their meeting this morning.
Board Chairman Duane McFadden said the budget is up just a little compared to last year.
“We’re up about $291,406,” said McFadden. “With the insurance increase, the 2% salary increase and the IPERS 2%, that makes up $247,403. That’s just a little short of 85% of our increase.”
The board also considered the County Compensation Board’s recommendation for 2 percent salary increases for elected officials with 1-thousand dollars additional for the board chair. Supervisor Chuck Rieken said the recommendation was fair.
“I think the elected officials have been very fair in asking for only a 2% raise this year after having zero last year,” said Rieken.
The board approved the recommendation from the Compensation Board as well as the IDOT expense budget.
