(ATLANTIC) The Atlantic Police Department hosted 14 children, ages 7 to 10, from the Atlantic School system to the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo on June 4th.
Three officers and two female volunteers accompanied the children as they explored the many exhibits and learned about the animals. The trip included bus transportation, meals and entrance fees, all of which were funded by the Departments Children’s fund. The fund is sustained by private donations from citizens and charity organizations and enables the department to interact with local area youth on several different activities, including an upcoming weekend campout.
The Atlantic Police Department thanks the parents for allowing their children to attend, along with the generous individuals and businesses whom contribute to make the trip possible.
