(NEOLA) A semi lost control on Interstate 80 in Pottawattamie County, sending a North Carolina man to the hospital.
The Iowa State Patrol says 37 year old Timothy Dillard of Rose Hill, North Carolina, was driving the semi eastbound on I-80 at around 8:00 this morning when he lost control on the wet pavement and jackknifed. The semi entered the south ditch and came to rest on the shoulder. The left side fuel tank was punctured during the incident, which caused diesel fuel to spill in the south ditch.
Dillard was transported to Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs by Neola Fire and Rescue. The Iowa DNR was called to investigate the fuel spill.
