(COUNCIL BLUFFS) The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office received another suspicious package Monday afternoon.
Pottawattamie County Sheriff Jeff Danker said the package arrived from the Postal Service at around 3:00 pm. He said the package looked similar to the package that they received last week and so they did not open it. Hazmat was again called in to check it out.
“There was some time of fluid in a small container and they determined it was not anything hazardous,” said Sheriff Danker. “We don’t have the final results as far as what it is, but it was not hazardous.”
Sheriff Danker said the packages have not been addressed to anyone specifically at the Sheriff’s Office.
He said, “If we find out who is doing that we will probably try to charge them for causing the problems that they are causing, but we will just have to see what we can find out.”
Danker said the package they received last week had a “sugar consistency” and it was determined that the substance was not hazardous. Danker has not heard exactly what the substance was.
