(Atlantic) The 2013 Cass County Relay for Life tractor ride is set for June 21 at to begin 8:00 a.m. at the Cass County Fairgrounds.
Tractor Ride Director Barb Baier says they ask the drivers for a $25.00 donation which includes a T-Shirt for the first 50 registered riders. She says the ride has generated about $6,000 since the origin of the ride all going to cancer research.
“We always emphasis that the donations are important, but the relationships and support that cancer survivors and their families receive is much more important than money,” stated Baier. “And the money raised funds research and that is what we are trying to do raise money for research.”
Baier says the tractors will leave the Cass County Fairgrounds and head east through Wiota to Anita. They will stop for a break at Anita State Park and from there head south to Highway 148 to Massena and stop at A & M Green Power for a catered lunch at the rider’s expense. The route will continue west out of Massena to Schuler Manufacturing where they will stop for a tour. The ride will continue north on Highway 71 back to Atlantic for a stop at Hy Vee for the famous root beer floats.
