(Council Bluffs) An intense thunderstorm system has knocked out power to several thousand people in western Iowa.
Officials from MidAmerican Energy are reporting that nearly 3,100 customers were without power as of 5:15 a.m. Monday. More than 2,800 of those customers are in the Council Bluffs area. Officials say falling trees and limbs caused damage to buildings and vehicles. But no injuries have been reported.
Hail was reported in Lyman, and a 56-mile per hour wind gust was reported in Audubon this morning.
