HIGH FUEL PRICES DENT BUDGETS
(Audubon) Oil prices continue to set new post recession highs closing above $105 a barrel Monday. Some local governments may cut projects.
Mitch Rydl, Audubon County Engineer said, “Something has to be cut, we are on a fixed budget, and we don’t have much revenue coming in.”
Larry Sorensen, Audubon County Road Superintendent cringes when the 7,300-gallon fuel tanker pulls in to fill their county tank. “It is a heck of an expense and I am not looking forward to the receipt that comes with it.”
By the way the tanker coming in this week….will cost the county an extra $2,400 compared to a month ago.
