RED OAK BUDGET PASSES
(Red Oak) The Red Oak City Council finalized the cities 2012 fiscal year budget Monday night. The council held a public hearing in front of a packed house, but there were no comments.
“The Council set the levy rate for the upcoming fiscal year at $17.08673, which is down slightly from last years $17.188, and down from two years ago which was $18.33. Therefore, we have managed to lower the levy alittle bit each year,” said Brad Wright, Red Oak City Administrator.
“We have retired some debt service and we do everything we can to maintain the cost in all of the departments. Every year it becomes more challenging but have been able to do it so far.”
Wright says the proposed $50,000 to go to the Y is in the budget at this time. It will come out of the reserve fund after July 1, and will be on the council agenda at that time.
