(Audubon) The Lineville Iowa man on trial for the 2011 death of a Hamlin teen was found guilty by a jury Thursday.
The Audubon County Clerk of Courts Office tells KSOM/KS95 news that Kendall L. Ware was found guilty on two counts Thursday afternoon. Count I: Homicide by Vehicle, Operating While Intoxicated. Count II: Serious injury by vehicle, operating while intoxicated.
The Iowa State Patrol investigated a two-vehicle accident in the late night hours of October 19, 2011. Seventeen-year-old Kristopher George Crawley died and three other people were hurt in the near head-on collision on Highway 71 just north of Brayton. The State Patrol says Kristopher Crawley was wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened at around 11:25 p.m.
Authorities say, Ware had a blood alcohol content of more than two-and-half times the legal limit.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 8.
