(Dayton) Police were releasing more information on the kidnapping of two girls in Dayton this week.
Special Agent Robert Kietzman says Michael Klunder abducted the girls after offering them work mowing grass. He took them to a hog confinement building…bound each of their hands with zip ties, then left with 15-year-old Kathlynn Shepard. That allowed her 12-year-old friend to escape.
Police say Klunder hanged himself after that …and there was blood found on his body and in his pick up. (pictured)
“We are going to make a logical assumption that with what happened that is going to be her blood, we don’t think it is anybody else’s, and we don’t think it is his,” stated Kietzman.
He says it could take some time to get results from blood tests. In the meantime, volunteers have expanded the search radius in their search.
