(Harlan) The Harlan Community Senior Class donation to the “Wounded Warrior Foundation” has quadrupled since their graduation ceremony last Sunday. Superintendent Justin Wagoner says he asked them to do something special this year.
“So as the graduating seniors came across the stage every single student handed me some level of money from a dollar bill, a twenty, and even a fifty and whispered this is for the Wounded Warrior Project, and it’s really a neat thing,” stated Wagner.
In all the students raised $359.00 and since then four separate people have offered to match that.
“It is just a great life lesson for the kids and when you give back it really turns into a force multiplier and I am really proud of their efforts and their creativity for getting this started,” said Wagner.
Justin Wagner serves in the 185th Air Refueling Wing.
