(Dayton) Investigators and search parties have gained additional information surrounding the abduction and subsequent search for Kathlynn Shepard. Most significantly, a search team of law enforcement and K9s located the young girls' backpacks late yesterday, Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Additionally, investigators obtained an image of Kathlynn from the day of the abduction.
In the included image you can see Kathlynn as she exited the school bus, shortly before her abduction. Previous reports indicated she was wearing a Vikings Baseball cap.
However, in this image you can see she is wearing an Cubs cap.
Meanwhile, the community of Dayton is reacting to the influx of news media as well as Federal, Local and State authorities assisting in the search for 15-year-old Kathynn Shepard.
Mayor Richard Travis expressed shock Tuesday to the idea that a small town like Dayton could experience an abduction now a search.
“In these parts of the state everyone knows everyone and they have all stepped up to help with the resources that they have,” stated Travis. “We are trying to coordinate that with the D-C-I right now so we are not damaging any potential evidence that might be out there,”
Dayton officials continue coordinating with several law enforcement agencies to resume research this morning.
