(Atlantic) The Nishna Valley Trails Group is hosting a bicycle ride June 1 to promote “National Trails Day” and raise money for the completion of the T-Bone Trail into Atlantic. Bruce Henderson spokesman for the event says the cost is $10.00 per person and $25.00 for a family.
“The primary goal right now of the Nishna Valley Trails is to get the trail into Atlantic,” stated Henderson, and ideally we want to get it into the Chamber office and out to Schilbergs.”
Henderson says the ride begins between 9:30 and 10:45 a.m. at the “Valley Trail Head” just south of the intersection of I-80 and Highway 71. There is a course for everyone participating. So riders can pick one between four and 38-miles and there will be maps available with trail mileage on them.
He says riders just need to make sure they pick a riding time that gets them to Brayton between 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. for lunch.
You can register that day or pre-register by sending the money and names of participants to Bruce Henderson, 1609 East 14th Street #12, Atlantic, Iowa 50022.
This is a joint venture between the Cass County Conservation and Nishna Valley Trails.
