CPC APPROVES IWCC PROJECT FUNDING
(ATLANTIC) The Community Promotion Commission approved funding the Iowa Western Community College Design Technology project at a special meeting Monday night.
The Atlantic City Council approved funding the project 25-thousand dollars for four years and asked the CPC to cover half of the cost. CPC Chairman Stuart Dusenberry said an issue was brought about because they had already approved their budget in January, however; they unanimously approved funding the 12-thousand 500-dollars last night.
“We decided to go ahead and take that $12,500 out of our cash reserves and keep our budget we had approved in January already intact,” said Dusenberry. “The commission felt it was something that we wanted to support but decided not to take it out of our budget for next year.”
The Community Promotion Commission is responsible for overseeing the external promotion, advertising, and marketing of the City as a retail center and tourist location. The Commission consists of five members who are appointed by the City Council and serve three year terms.
