RAGBRAI® PUBLICITY COMMITTEE SEEKS THEME IDEAS
(Atlantic) Planning for RAGBRAI’s overnight stop in the Atlantic area continues , and one of the first ways the community can be involved is in selecting a town theme.
“We are asking the community to send in their suggestions for a fun, energetic theme,” says Missy Goergen, Chair of the Publicity and Hospitality Committee. “We’re hoping everyone can really think outside the box and come up with some awesome ideas.”
Every overnight town along the route has a unique theme. Past examples include “Got Wheels” from Chariton, “Catch a Tailwind” in Storm Lake, or “Rollin’ Round O’Town” for Ottumwa.
Once the theme is selected on Monday, March 21, there will also be a contest for logo design. The town’s logo will be used on t-shirts, signs, web site, and other promotional materials. More details on the logo contest will be released after the theme announcement is made.
The author of the winning idea and the winning logo designer will both be awarded a free town t-shirt that displays the logo and theme.
Theme submissions are due by Friday, March 18th. The public can submit their ideas to the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce in writing (102 Chestnut Street, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 712.243.3017.
