(RED OAK) A Girl Talk program is scheduled for June in Montgomery County.
Girl Talk is a series of discussions designed to facilitate communication about the future between fifth and sixth grade girls and their moms. The program will promote positive self-esteem while helping daughters and moms, or other female role models, communicate about the future.
Girl Talk is sponsored by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Montgomery County. The dates are June 3 for mothers only, and then June 4, 11, and 18 for both moms and daughters. Each of the four sessions lasts about two hours, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The sessions will be held at the Montgomery County Extension office in Red Oak.
Stephanie Langner from Montgomery County Extension and Sue Drake from Montgomery County Public Health are the program facilitators. Classes are limited to 12 mom/daughter pairs, and there is a $15 program fee for each pair. Pre-registration is required by May 29. Call 623-2592 or stop by the office at 400 Bridge Street, Suite #2.
