(Atlantic) The Atlantic Elementary Parent Teacher Organization is giving businesses the opportunity to help sponsor an I-pad fund drive to share between the 3rd grade classrooms. The goal is to provide 24-of these at a cost of $399.00 each.
Third Grade teacher Deb Nelson says the I-pads will give the students a chance to use technology while learning academically.
“I think students today find technology engaging and I think it is a good way to breach academics with technology and make it fun and enjoyable in the classroom.”
The PTO is a non-profit organization that funds many educational tools at the elementary school in Atlantic. In the past they have helped pay for field trips, admissions, as well as informational activities for the students. They have also help purchase equipment throughout the schools, including digital cameras, accelerated reader books, headsets, and handicap playground equipment, just to name of few.
Donations can be made out to the Atlantic Elementary Parent Teachers Organization, (PTO) and can be sent to the Atlantic PTO, c/o Mark Foegen-President, Post Office Box 173, Atlantic, Iowa, 50022. Or a board member can stop by your place of business and pick up your donation, and answer any questions you may have about the project or the organization.
