(Des Moines) The Federal Government has told states they have to reduce the nutrients that are running down the Mississippi River into the Gulf of Mexico.
Griswold Republican Representative Jack Drake, Co-Chair of the Agricultural and DNR Sub-committee says they are trying to find the money to pay for soil conservation but finding it is a problem.
“Because with education and human services, everybody has a need for more money and finding the money has not been easy,” stated Drake.
Drake says he has an idea.“I planted a seed and it has sprouted but it is not ready for harvest yet,” said Drake.
Drake says he has been told that his bill will be one of the last ones out.
