(ATLANTIC) The Cass County Board of Supervisors approved an application to the USDA from the Rural Business Enterprise Grant program at their meeting this morning. The funds, if approved, will be used for a part time Food Policy Coordinator for Cass County.
The total project cost is $58,450 and the grant requires match funding of $2,500. Harrisdale Homestead is contributing third party match of $6,000 to provide office space for the person that is hired.
Bahia Barry was the Food Policy coordinator for Cass County out of Golden Hills RC&D in Pottawattamie County, but her position has been eliminated.
