(State) The Iowa DNR unveiled two new programs last week. One is designed to show Iowans where they can go and what they can do outdoors. The other project’s objective is to generate interest in the DNR’s newly offered combination licenses.
The first program is known as H20 which stands for Healthy and Happy Outdoors. Brian Hayes with the Iowa DNR Office in Lewis says,
"We know in the DNR there is a direct link between spending time outdoors and improving physical and mental well-being."
Those who register online and report their outdoor activities are eligible for prizes.
The other project is dubbed the Adventure Ready Gift Card Giveaway. It will reward those who purchase combination licenses.
"Anyone that purchases one of those new combination licenses will automatically be entered into a drawing for $50 gift cards. We solicited all of our vendors across the state and we had eleven vendors give 37 gift cards. We'll be giving those away between now and December."
The DNR’s new combination licenses include a hunting and fishing combo license, a three year residential fishing license, a three year residential hunting license, and bonus third fishing line instead of the traditional two lines allowed.
