(Washington D.C.) There is still no word when or if Republicans will revive an effort to take money from a Federal Health Prevention program to pay for providing affordable health insurance coverage for people with pre-existing medical conditions. That aspect of health care reform is running out of money and Iowa Senator Tom Harkin says to take money from prevention would be a slap in the face to the good faith efforts used to create the fund in the first place.
“Everyone went into it with their eyes open they knew exactly what they were doing an it’s not fair…it’s not right for this administration to come in now and start to undo what we agreed to do when we passed the bill,” stated Harkin.
Harkin says the prevention fund is designed to make health care look more toward prevention instead of just trying to tackle the issue after someone is sick.
