(Audubon) Siemens Energy has conducted an in depth inspection and analysis into the wind turbine blade that snapped off at the root and crashed into an Audubon County field on April 4th.
Engineers from around the world are reviewing data and a cause is yet to be determined, but a comprehensive inspection is ongoing to determine what led to the incident.
According to a press release from MidAmerican Energy, going forward, all wind turbine blade will have a more detailed inspection and analysis protocol to physically assess the condition of all blades before installation.
MidAmerican Energy ensures that only blades that have passed the rigorous inspection have been turned back on at the Eclipse Wind Farm. They state that safety and integrity are their top priorities.
