(ATLANTIC) Cass County Community Services is hosting a workshop on Benefits and Employment in 2013 on May 14th. The workshop will focus on how to earn significant income and protect medical benefits.
Points that will be covered include; how benefits impact employment first initiatives, what is countable earned income, how to manage benefits to avoid the loss of medical benefits, when can work incentives reduce the amount of income SSA counts and how much can a person earn.
The presenter will be Michael Walling, M.Ed., author of The Guide: To Social Security Benefits and Work Incentives, 21st Ed, 2013 and other publications on SSA benefits. Walling is a professional trainer with 19 years experience in presenting and teaching, focusing on disability benefit programs and employment.
The workshop will be held at Iowa Western Community College Cass County Center in Atlantic. Registration begins at 8:30. Presentation begins at 9:00 and concludes at 4:00. Fee includes handouts and refreshments. Lunch is not provided. The registration fee is $75 per person with registration on or before May 1st. Registration on or after May 2nd is $98.
