(Area) If you've looked on the calendar the first day of spring was March 20th. If you’ve looked at the forecast you’re still waiting for consistent spring weather.
Kevin Skow with the National Weather Service in Des Moines finally has some good news to deliver.
"After a cold day today and starting off tomorrow temperatures are going to warm up by the end of the week. Looking for highs on Wednesday to be in the 50's and then 60's on Thursday, and then to the mid-60's by Friday. The weekend looks to be quite nice. After today's cold weather it looks like we should be seeing a return of spring weather to the state of Iowa."
Skow says today and tomorrow morning are the last shots for cold weather for quite some time.
Northwest Iowa received 2-3” of snowfall overnight while Western and North Central Iowa received the bulk of the rainfall.
