(Atlantic) The Atlantic school board tabled the presentation of petitions for the districts proposed $11-million bond referendum at a work session Monday night.
"The chairperson for the bond referendum committee did not want to present the petitions at this time," stated Atlantic Schools Superintendent Dr. Michael Amstein. "At this point the committee believes that they need a little bit more time to get more information out to the community and do it in an effective way."
The Resolution ordering a Special Election was also tabled at Monday nights board work session.
Atlantic school officials say the referendum is needed to accommodate an increasing enrollment.
There is no word on when the petitions will be presented to the school board. One hundred-forty-eight signatures are needed to take the referendum to a vote.
