(COUNCIL BLUFFS) A Council Bluffs man was sentenced to 24 months in prison for possessing firearms after a felony conviction.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa says 36 year old Michael Fredrick Harrison was sentenced Thursday. Harrison was also ordered to serve two years of supervised release when he completes his imprisonment.
On October 4, 2012 Harrison pled guilty to being in possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The charge was the result of a home inspection done by the Iowa Fourth Judicial District Probation Office on November 3, 2011, at which time they located several firearms in the basement area of Harrison’s home.
The investigation was conducted by the Fourth Judicial District Probation Office, the Council Bluffs, Iowa, Police Department, the Pottawattamie County Attorney’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
