(ELK HORN) The 5th annual Tour de Tivoli Bike Ride will take place Memorial Day weekend during Tivoli Fest in Elk Horn.
The bike ride will take place Sunday, May 26th. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the bike ride starts at 9:00 a.m. Organizer Debbie McClain said riders can choose between a 25 mille route or a 50 mile route. Both rides begin at the Danish Windmill with stops at Prairie Rose and Kimballton for refreshments. From Kimballton, riders can choose to take the short route back to Elk Horn or they can continue on the 50 mile route with stops for refreshments in Hamlin and Exira before heading back to Elk Horn.
McClain said all ages can participate in the bike ride.
“We’ve had young kids as little as 6 riding their own bicycles, we’ve had up into the 80’s and 90’s even participate,” said McClain. “It’s not a race, it’s just a leisure ride for fun.”
This year the ride is dedicated to Cheryl Swearingen. “She and I created this bike ride five years ago and she passed away last year due to cancer, so it’s in memory of her this year,” said McClain.
Anyone interested in participating can pre-register at anytime, even the morning of the ride. To pre-register, contact Debbie McClain at 712-249-7257 or email email@example.com or visit danishwindmill.com and visit the online store and click on the link to Mill Deals where you will find a Tour de Tivoli link and can pay via PayPal.
The cost is $35 which includes a t-shirt, all refreshments and a free meal.
