(Atlantic) The atlanticiaschools.org website is up and running after being attacked by “Hackers” last Friday. Atlantic Community Schools District Technology Coordinator Roger Warne called Friday’s incident a “Random Act of Vandalism.”
“It is nothing more than somebody going by and spray painting the side of a building or anything like that,” stated Warne. “It is just a random act of vandalism and somebody wants to get a special message out there and this is how they do it.”
Warne says the incident was discovered at around 2:30 p.m. Friday.
“There was a very objectionable picture put on the web stating some bodies cause or something like that…I will just leave it at that,” explained Warne. “And the company that oversees our website got it shut down and tried to work their way through it, however Sunday morning it happened again.”
Roger Warne admits the website is running about 80-percent right now. He says that he hasn’t received any indication from the company that oversees the website in regards to when the website will be fully functional.
