(Des Moines) Twin bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon Monday afternoon killing three people and wounding 140-more. One source who declined to be identified said they don’t believe it was a suicide bomber.
Kelly Sorensen of Des Moines was one of the runners in the Boston Marathon Monday. She says she finished before the explosions.
“I probably finished about 15-minutes before it happened,” stated Sorensen. “I was waiting in the family meeting area and heard the first explosion and it kinda’ got quiet and people started talking again and then the second explosion happened and people started running our way and the Police started going towards the scene.”
She says after the first blast she thought it might have been some kind of celebration or construction activity. But when the second blast occurred, she realized there was something wrong.
