(Atlantic) Jury Selection is slated to start Tuesday morning for the Cass County man accused of shooting and killing a dog that wandered into his yard last December.
Charles Collins Cutler, of Marne is scheduled to go to trial on a charge of animal abuse in the incident that occurred on December 24, 2012.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says a dog owner from Denver, Colorado, reported that her dog was playing with a relative’s dog in the church lot adjacent to Cutler’s residence.
The dog allegedly wandered onto Cutler's property where he is accused of shooting it. The dog was taken to a local vet where it died. Cutler pleaded not guilty.
Jury selection is set to begin shortly after 9:00 a.m. KSOM/KS95 News has applied for media coverage of the trial.
Opening arguments are expected sometime late Tuesday morning or early afternoon.
