(Atlantic) Demolition was underway at 7:30 this morning of the south wing at the Cass County Memorial Hospital. The south wing was previously used as the in patient area.
The hospital broke ground on a 23.5 million expansion project in May of 2011.
Cass County Health Systems Director of Public Relations and Recruiting Sara Nelson says it will take five days to tear down the south wing.
As demolition continues, the west entrance and parking lot located along 10th Street will be closed. Patients and visitors are asked to use the north atrium or east parking lots and entrances.
