(Greenfield) The Adair County Board of Supervisor’s passed the Northwest Wind Farm Urban Renewal Plan joint agreement with the cities at their meeting this morning. Adair County Auditor Mindi Schaeffer says the money generated from this will be used to for road and bridge improvements around the area where the wind farms were placed.
“These funds will help a tremendous amount because we have about $20-million in projects that we’ve put into the plan,” stated Schaeffer. “It doesn’t mean those projects will be done right away, but it is a possibility of doing them over the next ten-to-fifteen years.”
Schaeffer says anytime the county comes within two-miles of a city border the county has to have an agreement with the city in order to capture that Tax Increment Financing revenue.
Schaeffer says the Urban Renewal area spans around the city of Bridgewater and comes close to the city of Fontanelle and goes north to Adair and includes the townships between those three cities.
The Board of Supervisor’s waived the second and third readings and passed it all this morning.
