(ELK HORN-KIMBALLTON) The Elk Horn-Kimballton School Board approved their budget for 2013-2014 at their meeting last night.
Superintendent Dean Schnoes said they are estimating their budget to be around 5.1 million dollars next year.
“We’re looking at a proposed tax rate of $15.47 per thousand dollars of tax valuation, which is about the same as what we had last year,” said Schnoes. “This is what we’ll be sending into the state and of course there are still things that could happen with the legislators and if all of a sudden they give us some kind of a percentage of allowable growth for this year, that could drop the tax rate even more.”
In other activity, the school board approved the purchase of bus cameras to replace the current old and outdated cameras.
