(ELK-HORN KIMBALLTON) The Elk Horn-Kimballton Vice President had to step up into the President position last night after their President, Mark Smith, moved out of the district he was representing.
Superintendent Dean Schnoes said the district Mark Smith represented went from the northwest corner of the Elk Horn-Kimballton district to the southeast corner of the district.
“So, we’ve kind of got a dilemma going on that we’re working through our school attorney because we have a lot of different questions, but now we also have to look at the board finding an individual to appoint to finish out Mark’s term on the board, at least for partial time until we get clarification on how long that will have to be,” explained Schnoes.
Schnoes said they hope to have everything straightened out by the Board elections in September.
He said they are also currently looking at passing a resolution to where they would go away from board members representing district sections to going to all at-large representation with the possibility of re-organization with the Exira and Elk Horn-Kimballton school districts.
