(Des Moines) A spring storm that we haven’t seen for quite sometime is heading in our direction.
Brad Small, with the National Weather Service in Des Moines says the heaviest rain will occur in our neck of the woods. “Southwest Iowa will see some showers and thunderstorms develop tonight and some could be strong to severe, with large hail being the main threat,” stated Small.“This will also start a period where we could see some moderate to heavy rainfall of one-two-inches by the time the storm exists, maybe even locally higher amounts.”
Small says the rainy weather will be followed by a cool down.“There is going to be quite a change in temperatures with high’s in the mid-70’s today before falling to the mid-40’s on Wednesday and Thursday,” said Small. “With that cool down will bring some chances of snow by Wednesday and Thursday morning.”
