BOOTS TO HEELS CONFERENCE MARCH 5TH
(ATLANTIC) The annual Boots to Heels conference will be held Saturday, March 5th at the Cass County Community Center in Atlantic.
Kate Olson, Planning Committee Member, says the conference will celebrate women involved in or affected by agriculture.
“The theory with the Boots to Heels is that we’re celebrating all the different types of shoes that women in Agriculture wear, from the work boots to the dress up heels, women in Ag play many different roles and that’s what we’re celebrating with this conference,” said Olson.
Aubrey Stuart, Planning Committee Member, says the conference will feature numerous workshops beginning at 8 a.m. and ending around 3 p.m.
“We have a lot of sessions, all the way from estate planning, energy saving, more important educational sessions, and then a lot of fun things that you can do; we have jewelry making this year, cake decorating, and some interior decorating topics,” said Stuart. “It’s really a good time, along with good food and entertainment.”
Kate Olson says the keynote speakers are Troy and Stacy Hadrick, a farming and ranching couple from South Dakota.
“They’re known as Advocates for Agriculture and they travel all around the U.S. basically teaching people how to find their passion, find what they believe in, and speak out for it,” said Olson. “They are very involved in Agriculture and obviously a lot of people who are involved in Agriculture know that there is some misinformation going around out there about what modern Agriculture involves and these guys do a great job of giving people who are involved in Agriculture and the rural life style a way to get some information out there and kind of fight back, tell your own stories to make a difference is basically their message.”
