(Guthrie Center) A Guthrie Center drinking establishment is scheduled to stand trial to determine their responsibility in a 2009 incident in which a patron was injured.
According to the Omaha-World Herald, Gutterz Bowl and Lounge in Guthrie Center was the site of a fight involving Curtis Hoyt and Curtis Knapp. The article states that the Iowa Supreme Court ruled Friday by a 4-3 vote that the case should be heard by a jury. What’s in question is whether or not the establishment is responsible for injuries that Hoyt suffered after being kicked out of the bar. Hoyt was struck in the head by Knapp and knocked out in the parking lot.
The case was originally dismissed in Guthrie County District Court in 2010, but Hoyt appealed the ruling.
