DETAILS RELEASED ON SATURDAYS AMBER ALERT
(RED OAK) A Weekend Amber Alert was cancelled after less than two hours for a missing southwest Iowa girl.
When 17-year-old Betsy Luna went missing, her foster family in Essex initially thought she had been abducted by her Uncle and that she was in immediate danger. That prompted the Iowa State Patrol to issue an Amber Alert on Saturday night.
About an hour later, Luna’s Uncle told police he hadn’t seen the girl. Then officers went to Luna’s boyfriend’s house in Red Oak where they found her safe. Both Luna and her boyfriend, 19-year-old Fidel Ramos, were taken in for questioning. Charges are pending.
